About the Role
An Amazon returns processing facility is hiring part-time Returns Associates to manage the high-volume processing of customer returns. Returns associates evaluate returned items, assess condition, process the return in the system, and route items to the correct disposition — restock, liquidation, vendor return, or disposal. It is a fast-paced, detail-oriented role that plays a critical part in Amazon's ability to offer its industry-leading return policy at scale. Pay is strong, shifts are short, and the role is fully trainable from day one.
What You Will Do
- Receive returned packages at the inbound dock, verify contents against the packing slip or system record, and scan each returned item into the returns processing system
- Inspect returned items for damage, missing components, and functional condition according to the category-specific grading guidelines
- Assign the correct disposition code to each returned item — restock, refurbish, vendor return, liquidation, or disposal — based on the inspection result
- Re-package restockable items in new poly bags, boxes, or original manufacturer packaging with a correct label for return to inventory
- Place items into the correct disposition bin or pallet according to the returns processing flow chart
- Maintain an accurate count of processed units and reach the daily processing target for your assigned returns category
- Flag high-value items, customer-disputed returns, and out-of-policy returns to the returns supervisor for secondary review
- Keep the returns processing area organized, clear of excessive returns volume, and safe throughout the shift

- Comfortable working at a measured productivity pace in a warehouse environment

- Must be 18 or older — no experience or degree required
