Position Overview:

Texas Panhandle Centers is seeking a Clerk (1161) to deliver trauma-informed care and clerical support functions in the Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Service Coordination program for clients across Amarillo and the surrounding service area of the Texas Panhandle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful trauma-informed care language.
  • Review and edit documents completed by Service Coordinators received via email.
  • Maintain client files with updated documents.
  • File and revise client and staff contact information.
  • Dispatch original documents to Medical Records and create duplicate copies for clients.
  • Compose letters and documents for clients and their family.
  • Assist Service Coordinators in electronic health records (EHR) on their assigned caselo.
  • Contact clients in the HSC Waiver Interest List via phone and correspond to updates using the State of Texas online portal.
  • Prioritize tasks based on deadlines.
  • Other clerical duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to TPC Business Code of Conduct and report concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised.

Qualifications & Credentials:

Education & Credentials (Required):

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work, OR a minimum of 8th grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by a qualifying score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE).
  • 6 months of clerical work experience.
  • Experience with computer use and terminology.
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute or higher.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.
  • At least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus.
