Job Description:

  • Work across the country at various client sites to conduct assessments, inspections, and complete maintenance on clients’ energized assets.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance services on electrical systems, including solar PV, EV charging stations, and BESS.
  • Perform inspections and maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and structural components of energy systems.
  • Troubleshoot and identify root causes of problems affecting hardware asset operation and performance.
  • Open live electrical equipment exposing energized connections for inspection.
  • Respond to client concerns regarding system performance or functionality.
  • Identify and escalate concerns to the appropriate level and suggest potential improvements.
  • Perform additional inspection, assessment, and maintenance activities on clients’ energized assets as needed.
  • Operate infrared cameras and IR drones, perform DC voltage testing, DAS system integration, ultrasound scans, vibration data collection, and arc flash or lock-out-tag-out deliveries.
  • Adhere to and maintain compliance with all ABB safety policies.
  • Proactively book hotels, air travel, and/or car rentals for assigned work travel through the provided travel planning platform.
  • Report to the Service Manager - Energy & Carbon.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Analytical ability and high technical aptitude.
  • 2+ years of experience in an electrical technician role.
  • Electrical trade skills and previous experience; ability to read and understand electrical diagrams.
  • NFPA 70 E Certified is a plus.
  • Ability to solve problems on the fly and work in a sometimes-unstructured environment.
  • Capable of critical thinking and ability to solve complex mechanical and electrical problems.
  • Ability to interact with client representatives, internal stakeholders, and the general public in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
  • Computer literacy, familiar with Windows programs and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working effectively without direct supervision.
  • Must reside in or relocate to Massachusetts.
