Dade Institute of Technology and Health (DITH), a nursing school in North Miami Beach, Florida, is seeking a part-time Mental Health Nursing Instructor to teach the theory (didactic) portion of our Neurologic and Psychiatric Nursing course in the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN-RN) program. The position is fully online and synchronous: class meets live on Zoom every Monday at 6:00 PM Eastern Time. This is an immediate opening for the Winter 2026 quarter (September 28 – December 15, 2026), with the opportunity to continue teaching in future quarters.
Schedule and format
- Fully remote, with live (synchronous) instruction on Zoom
- Mondays at 6:00 PM Eastern Time for the full 12-week quarter
- Didactic (theory) only, with no lab, simulation, or clinical assignment
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging live lectures and learning activities in psychiatric–mental health and neurologic nursing, following the course syllabus and student learning outcomes
- Keep the Canvas course current: materials, announcements, attendance, and timely grades
- Administer and remotely proctor course exams, and review results with students
- Build clinical judgment and NCLEX-RN readiness with NCLEX-style and Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) questions and case studies
- Identify struggling students early and provide remediation and support
- Communicate promptly with students and with the Online Nursing Program Administrator, to whom this position reports
Required qualifications
- Active, unencumbered RN license (Florida or multistate compact)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- At least four years of RN experience, including psychiatric–mental health nursing
- Availability every Monday at 6:00 PM ET
- Reliable high-speed internet, a computer with webcam and microphone, and comfort teaching live on Zoom
Preferred qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or higher; master's-prepared candidates are strongly preferred
- Teaching experience in a pre-licensure nursing program, especially online
- Psychiatric–mental health certification (PMH-BC or PMHNP-BC)
- Experience with Canvas, Elsevier Sherpath/HESI, and writing NCLEX/NGN-style test items

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
