DEFINITION:To provide effective online instruction to students through Canvas LMS using multiple teaching strategies and perform accurate assessment of student learning objectives. This is a posting to create a pool of Adjunct Online Instructors for future instructional needs. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:<ul style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 3pt; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0"><li style="margin: 0 0 0.0001pt; text-align: justify">Receives general supervision from Department Chair</li><li style="margin: 0 0 0.0001pt; text-align: justify">Exercises no supervision</li></ul>ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:Essential Functions:<ul style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 3pt; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0; margin-left: 29px"><li>Prepare and execute lessons, lectures, activities, and exercises for online settings in the Canvas LMS.</li><li>Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance. Grade and record individual scores.</li><li>Grade and return assignments and post grades in a prompt manner.</li><li>Provide prompt and appropriate professional correspondence to students and colleagues.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance. Maintain other records as required.</li><li>Maintain Regular and Substantive faculty to student interactions.</li><li>Abide by CFCC course standards. </li><li>Maintain ADA compliance and digital accessibility standards. </li></ul>Other Important Functions:<ul style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 3pt; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0"><li style="margin: 0 0 0.0001pt; text-align: justify">Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of:<ul style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 3pt; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0; margin-left: 28.9px"><li>Best practices and teaching techniques for online instruction</li><li>Current trends, research, and development in the discipline and online teaching/learning environment</li><li>Principles of test development and administration</li><li>ADA compliance and digital accessibility </li><li>Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) standards</li><li>Quality Matters (QM) standards for online teaching/learning</li></ul>Ability To:<ul style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 3pt; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0"><li style="margin: 0 0 0.0001pt; text-align: justify">Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work</li><li style="margin: 0 0 0.0001pt; text-align: justify">Interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations</li></ul><ul style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 3pt; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0; margin-left: 0"><li>Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:<ol style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Making observations</li><li>Reading and writing</li><li>Communicating with others</li><li>Operating assigned equipment</li><li>Handling varied tasks simultaneously</li></ol></li><li>Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:<ol style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Standing or sitting for extended periods of time</li><li>Operating assigned equipment</li><li>Handling varied tasks simultaneously </li><li>Stooping, bending, climbing or lifting up to 50 pounds</li></ol></li><li>Maintain mental capacity, which allow the capability of:<ol style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Making sound decisions</li><li>Responding to questions</li><li>Demonstrating intellectual capabilities</li></ol></li></ul>EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES:Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Minimum Education/Training:<ul style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 3pt; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0; margin-left: 0"><li>A Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline </li><li>Ability to develop engaging, original content within the LMS, beyond third-party publisher materials</li><li>Expertise in Canvas LMS, including course setup, content organization, assessments, analytics, and optimization for student engagement and success</li><li style="text-align: left"> Proficiency in a wide range of instructional technologies for distance learning, including video conferencing, screencasting, and other digital tools that enhance online and hybrid education Preferred Education/Training:Quality Matters certification or experience with Quality Matters principles, or proficiency in a similar online pedagogy framework focused on effective digital course design</li></ul>Special Instructions to Applicants:<ul style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 3pt; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0"><li>This position REQUIRES UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS AND/OR TRAINING CERTIFICATIONS be submitted in addition to the application.
