Job Description:
Clinically interpret and evaluate physician medication orders for therapeutic appropriateness, cost effectiveness, accuracy, safety, and completeness
Perform computer order entry, labeling, and dispensing according to policies, procedures, and State Board of Pharmacy regulations
Initiate, review, and update documentation; communicate clinical and technical information to healthcare team members and patients
Work with product procurement and reimbursement teams on payor-specific formulary products and product availability
Participate in patient evaluation, product and device selection, and supply management
Coordinate medication preparation and delivery with admission teams and nursing agencies
Supervise pharmacy support personnel in sterile compounding, packaging, labeling, procurement, product utilization, and inventory management when assigned clean room responsibilities
Comply with USP 797 cleanroom policies and maintain quality assurance documentation
Maintain security of legend items and legally required records in compliance with state and federal regulations
Comply with FDA mandates and manufacturer restrictions on particular drugs
Participate in performance improvement activities, educational programs, and departmental or branch meetings
Assist with training and orientation of new employees
Perform other assigned duties, including on-call responsibilities
Requirements:
1+ years of experience in Clinical Pharmacy
Computer skills, including word processing, database, and spreheet programs
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations
Ability to write and present information to managers, patients, nurses, and physicians
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Active Pennsylvania pharmacy license in good standing
Must reside in Pennsylvania or Florida
Current licensed pharmacist in Pennsylvania
Willingness to obtain additional state pharmacist licenses, paid for by CVS
Experience in an IV alternative site environment preferred
BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited Pharmacy School
