Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance
Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
Handle objections, concerns, and misunderstandings and gain calls to action to close sales calls
Serve customer needs and build trusted customer relationships
Develop and execute call plans to optimize customer coverage and sales opportunities
Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales expertise
Share market intelligence with the in-field team, brand team, and sales manager
Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with assigned healthcare providers
Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
Travel approximately 20% of the time
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, pharmacy, business-related field, or equivalent
Proven track record of success in selling
Solid presentation skills
In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
Strong business acumen
Proficient use of business tools
Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach
Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
English language proficiency verbally and in writing
Valid driver's license
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
Ability to travel adequately to cover the territory, including overnight training events and sales meetings
Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment
Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials, which may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and specific state or city licenses
Preferred: Proven sales performance within the respective therapeutic areas
Preferred: Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience, such as physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing
