At Lufthansa Cargo, operational excellence is built through strong partnerships, high standards, and continuous improvement. As a Production Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of cargo operations at our JFK operation.
This is a highly visible position that offers broad exposure to operational, commercial, and strategic topics. You will work closely at the station to drive performance, solve complex challenges, and implement sustainable improvements.
Success in this role comes from mastering the balance between challenge and support. You'll champion operational excellence by holding yourself and others to high standards, while serving as a trusted advisor and partner to the teams you support.

What You'll Do
- Drive operational performance and continuous improvement
- Partner with local teams and ground handling agents to enhance safety, security, service quality, compliance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor operational performance indicators and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead performance reviews, operational assessments, audits
- Analyze trends, root causes, and operational risks and develop sustainable corrective actions.
- Act as the local focal point for operational projects, process improvements, and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues at headquarters and across the global network to implement best practices and operational standards.
- Manage supplier performance and foster strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide operational expertise and guidance during irregular operations, escalations, and business-critical situations.

What You Bring?
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in air cargo, aviation, logistics, transportation, or a comparable operational environment.
- Proven track record of driving operational improvements and solving complex problems.
- Experience working with suppliers, service providers, or operational partners.
